Lancaster County is known far and wide as being an area for “builders and creators.” Our history is filled with stories of expert artisans and craftsmen whose creations have changed the face of not only our community but also our nation.

The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, located in the heart of downtown Lancaster at 333 North Queen Street, is helping to keep that tradition alive by offering the artisans of today a place to gather and thrive. The mission of the PGC is “to create opportunities for traditional and contemporary artists, makers, craft lovers and collectors through education, patronage, advocacy, and community.

These opportunities include hundreds of classes and workshops each year, focusing on diverse topics, such as:

  • Flameworking
  • Metalsmithing
  • rug hooking
  • nature journaling
  • many more!

Even more exciting is the fact that shoppers can visit the Guild’s Fine Handmade Craft Store at its Lancaster location and purchase high quality locally made crafts. With over 1,000 unique pieces to choose from, you’ll have no problem finding just the right item for your home decor. Shop small, and in doing so support the local artisans who truly make Lancaster one of the most unique destinations in the United States!
